What we do not collect

There is nothing here to fill in and send. WateringTimes has no accounts, no sign-up, no login, no contact form, no newsletter, no comments and no payments. We never ask for your name, address, email or phone number, so we do not hold any of it.

Our own code sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser storage, and the one measurement tool we load is cookieless by design, as described below. Nothing on this site follows you between visits or across other websites.

The calculators stay on your device

The water budget calculator and the sprinkler run time calculator do their arithmetic in your browser, using data files that are part of the page. Your yard size, plant choices, city selection and everything else you enter are never transmitted to us, never written to a server, and never saved anywhere after you close the tab.

That is a property of how the site is built rather than a promise about our intentions: there is no server-side component here to receive those numbers.

Anonymous traffic measurement

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits, so we can see which pages are useful and which are not. It is cookieless and does not build a profile of you. It records the page address, the referring site if there is one, and coarse technical facts such as country, device type and browser.

It does not record your name, your precise location, or anything you type. We see totals and trends, never individual people. Vercel processes this data as our service provider under its own privacy terms.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps short-lived operational logs of requests to its servers, including IP addresses, as any web host does. Those logs exist to serve pages and to detect abuse. We do not mine them and do not connect them to anything else.

Fonts are served from this site rather than from a font provider, so loading a page here does not tell any third party that you visited.

Links to water agencies and other sites

Every rule and number on this site cites the water supplier, city or state document it came from, and those citations are links. Following one takes you to a site we do not run, with its own privacy practices and its own trackers. This policy covers only wateringtimes.com.

If you are a California resident

California privacy law gives residents rights over personal information a business collects about them, including the right to know, to delete, to correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing.

We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we hold no accounts and no contact details, there is normally nothing about you for us to look up, hand over or delete. If you still want to ask, write to the address below and we will answer.

Children

This site is a gardening and landscape reference written for adults maintaining property. It is not directed at children, and we knowingly collect nothing from anyone of any age.

Changes and contact

If this ever changes, for example if the site gains a paid document or an email feature, this page will be rewritten before that ships, and the date at the top will move.
